After months of intensive work and feedback from numerous agencies, we are moving forward with a far-reaching, comprehensive policy designed to standardize the look and feel of Ohio's state websites.
This project was undertaken for two reasons: the first was to give our customers, the citizens of the state of Ohio, a more cohesive experience when looking for resources at the state level; the second was to give agencies a chance to review in a comprehensive fashion their web presences, and to open the doors to a reorganization and revitalization of websites as befits the agency's wants and needs.
The goal of this project is not to dictate to agencies what content can and cannot go on their sites or how to organize that information. The goal is simply to give a common Ohio.gov look and feel to our sites and to more clearly systematize access to that information.
This state policy is applicable to all executive branch cabinet agencies, and all subordinate agencies, departments and divisions within those agencies. For the purposes of this policy, the terms "executive branch cabinet agency" or "agency" are used interchangeably to convey the stated policy scope.
The scope of this information technology policy includes state computer and telecommunications systems and the employees, contractors, temporary personnel and other agents of the state who use and administer such systems.
